NPS Photo The Extreme Motus is available at the Zion Cayon Visitor Center to enable visitors with mobility challenges and disabilities to enjoy more of the park's trails. Checking Out the ChairCome to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center information desk and if the chair is available, a ranger will begin the checkout process. Both user and assistant must fill out a waiver prior to use. Either the chair user OR the assistant must present an ID and proof of insurance. The ranger will then go through a brief training on how to use the chair and review the chair features checklist with both the user and the assistant. Because the Extreme Motus chair is too long to fit on the Zion Canyon Shuttle, the ranger will also provide you with an accessibility pass to drive and park on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive during shuttle bus season. The Extreme Motus chair is available for single day rentals only and must be returned before the Visitor Center closes on the same day of checkout. For Visitor Center operating hours, please visit our Operating Hours and Seasons page. Know Before You GoExtreme Motus can be taken on many trails in the park. While planning your trip, remember that the chair must be returned to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center on the same day you check it out. Recommended Trails
Additional Designated Trails
These trails are impassible in the Extreme Motus due to the nature of the trail and/or chair dimensions. You may wish to have additional assistants on trails like Weeping Rock, West Rim, Middle Emerald Pools, and the Watchman due to the steepness and/or rugged nature of those trails.
