Visiting the Park in WinterUpstate New York winters bring cold temperatures, snow, ice, and wind. Please use caution when driving to and around the park as the weather often creates poor driving conditions in the area. In cold temperatures walk carefully on sidewalks and pavement in and around the park as the surfaces may become icy and slippery. Canal SafetyIf you plan on enjoying the region by exploring the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, make sure you follow proper water safety. Check your watercraft to ensure it is in good condition, and always wear a United States Coast Guard approved, properly-sized life jacket. Follow proper etiquette and rules for safe boating. The waterways are a great way to discover the region's history and natural beauty when done safely. COVID-19 SafetyVisitors are only required to wear masks in park buildings if community COVID-19 levels are HIGH. Masks are recommended if levels are MEDIUM.
