Food ServicesThere are no restaurants at Walnut Canyon National Monument. The Western National Parks Association (WNPA) store does sell a limited assortment of food including granola bars, jerky, cookies, and candy. The store is located inside the visitor center. Local RestaurantsThere are a number of restaurants in Flagstaff, which is approximately 7.5 miles (12 km) west of Walnut Canyon National Monument. For more information on local dining establishments, visit the Flagstaff Convention and Visitors Bureau site. Picnic AreaEnjoy a picnic in the picnic area near the Walnut Canyon visitor center. Gas stoves are permitted, but no open fires. Please check at the visitor center for current fire restrictions. WaterWater is available in the visitor center at the bottle filling station. Please bring a water bottle, or purchase an empty reusable bottle from the Western National Parks Association store. Bottled water is for sale at the WNPA store. Camping and AccommodationsAccommodationsThere are no lodges or campgrounds at Walnut Canyon National Monument. There are a number of hotels and campgrounds in and around Flagstaff. CampingThere are many United States Forest Service (USFS) campgrounds in and around Flagstaff. For more information on these campgrounds, visit the Coconino National Forest website on camping. Many of these campgrounds are seasonal and are not open year-round. |
