Your Dollars At Work

Where Does Your Money Go?

The National Park Service collects Recreation Fees under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA). Recreation Fees provide a vital source of revenue for improving facilities and services for park visitors. National park lands are not free. Protecting our natural and cultural heritage while providing a safe, enjoyable, and educational visit requires substantial funding. Although your taxes help offset the costs of operating parks like Vicksburg National Military Park, they do not cover all of the costs.

The money you hand the rangers at the Park Fee Stations is going right back into Vicksburg National Military Park! This ensures that the park - and your visit - are better. All projects that use "Rec Fee" money are important to maintaining and preserving your national parks.

Thank you for paying an entrance fee or purchasing a park pass at Vicksburg National Military Park!
