Monument is located on Grant Avenue midway between Union Avenue and Grant's Circle. This unit was attached to Col. Cyrus Bussey's Cavalry Brigade of Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman's exterior line and was commanded by Maj. Thomas A. Apperson and Maj. Abel A. Seley.
