Monument located on Confederate Avenue between the Tennessee Memorial and the Stockade Redan (Park Tour Stop 10). At the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou, this unit was attached to Cols. Allen Thomas', William T. Wither's, or Edward Higgins' Provisional Brigade, of Brig. Gen. Stephen D. Lee's Provisional Division, and commanded by Col. J. O. Landry.

During the Greenville Expedition, the regiment was assigned to Brig. Gen. Stephen D. Lee's Reinforced Brigade, of Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Department of Mississippi and East Louisiana. Afterwards, it was attached to Brig. Gen. Francis A. Shoup's 3d Brigade, of Maj. Gen. Martin Luther Smith's Division, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg, and commanded by Col.
