Multiple monument located at Louisiana Circle on South Washington Street. This unit was attached to Col. Edward Higgins' River Defense Batteries, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg, and commanded by Col. C. A. Fuller and Lt. Col. Daniel Beltzhoover. Company E
This unit was attached to the "Railroad Battery" and was commanded by Capt. Lawrence B. Haynes. The "Railroad Battery" was located 100 ft above the river just south of the railroad cut and mounted one 18-pdr rifled gun ("Whistling Dick") and one 20-pdr Parrott rifled gun.
