This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. John C. Vaughn's 2d Brigade, Maj. Gen. Martin Luther Smith's Division, in Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg, and commanded by Col. J. H. Crawford, Lt. Col. N. Gregg (captured 17 May 1863), and Capt. J. W. Bachman.
