In the Greenville Expedition, the unit was attached to Lt. Col. Samuel W. Ferguson's Combat Team Ferguson, and commanded by Lt. Col. John H. Higley. Later the regiment was assigned to Brig. Gen. Matthew D. Ector's Brigade of Maj. Gen. William H.T. Walker's Division, Gen. Joseph E. Johnston's Army of Relief, Department of the West and was commanded by Maj. T.O. Stone.
