This regimental position marker is located on Union Avenue 200 yards south of the Iowa Memorial. Companies A, E, & K were attached to Brig. Gen. Peter J. Osterhaus' 9th Division of Maj. Gen'ls. John A. McClernand (relieved 6/19/1863) and Edward O. C. Ord's 13th Army Corps and commanded by Capt. John L. Campbell.
