Multiple monument located at Louisiana Circle on South Washington Street. This unit was attached to Col. Edward Higgins' River Defense Batteries, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg, and commanded by Col. C. A. Fuller and Lt. Col. Daniel Beltzhoover. Company I
This unit was attached to the "Widow Blakely Battery" about a mile southeast of the Marine Battery, 130 ft above the river, and commanded by Capt. Edward G. Butler. The battery mounted three 32-pdr rifled guns and one 7.44-inch Blakely Rifle (known as the "Widow Blakely"). [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume II, page 63.]
