Most daily programs take place at Muhlenberg's Brigade and at Washington's Headquarters. Call the information desk at 610-783-1099 or ask a ranger inside the Visitor Center at Valley Forge for the most current information about daily times, topics, and locations of ranger programs.

Purifoy Artillery Firing DemonstrationsLearn about the cannons and artillery used during the American Revolutionary War and watch park rangers in living history clothing demonstrate a cannon firing. Artillery firing demonstrations take place at the firing range located behind the log huts at Muhlenberg's Brigade. Programs begin at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM, and run for about 30 minutes. All demonstrations are weather and staff dependent.

Purifoy 2026 Fall Campfire ProgramsFall campfire programs have moved to the storytelling firepit at Muhlenberg's Brigade.Join a park ranger for an interactive evening by the campfire as we discuss unique stories of Valley Forge and the American Revolution. Purifoy Art in the Park ProgramView the 2026 Art in the Park Outing Schedule >Join rangers each month at a different beautiful location in the park to practice your photography, sketching, drawing, or painting in a stress-free, judgment-free environment. Bring your own equipment and supplies. The program is free and advance registration is not required. Typical locations for outings include the Grand Parade meadows, the forests of Mount Joy, Muhlenberg's Brigade or the National Memorial Arch for sunrise, the Washington's Headquarters area in the springtime, Valley Creek Trail, Fatlands Trail, Pawling Farm, and even our nearby sister park Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site.

Purifoy Washington's Headquarters and Valley Forge Train Station Open HouseBeginning on May 4, 2026 the Isaac Potts House (Washington's Headquarters) is closed to visitors for a restoration project. The house will remain closed until 2027 in time to mark the 250th anniversary of Washington’s 1777 arrival at Valley Forge. Open daily March through October. Winter hours vary. WinterThere are no regularly scheduled ranger programs at Valley Forge from December through Februrary. Even though regular ranger programs don't start until March, there are special events and programming, including March-In (around Dec. 19), Washington's Birthday (Feb. 19), and Story Time at Valley Forge Spring(March through May) Ranger programs are offered on weekends in the spring. |
