Oh no!

outdoors, stone wall, man, frown

Oh no! Mordecai Moore is part of the Welsh-Quaker farming community at Valley Forge.

Quakers are also known as Friends, and they belong to a historically Christian denomination known as the Religious Society of Friends. They are pacifists and think that violence is wrong, including war. But they are not your enemy.

Before your arrival at Valley Forge, the British had bought or seized these farmers’ hay, crops, and livestock for their own use. Now, the Continental Army does the same. Mordecai Moore and other farmers are upset that thousands of soldiers are on their property. They will not be able to plant for the next season if the army is still here.

It will be a tough winter for these civilians, and now you have frustrated Mordecai Moore even further. Sergeant Barnet double-checks the farmer’s pass, determines that it is good, and lets him through. Hopefully, Moore will forget this and decide to help the Continental Army.
