By In early November 1744, Father Diaz, curate of Nacosari and one of the few secular priests who dared brave the dangers of the Pimería Alta to visit his scattered parishioners, recorded in the Guevavi book the baptism of Juana Gertrudis de la Luz Rita Ramírez. Father Keller was present too. In the marriage register he scribbled for Father Díaz’s signature a notice of the union of Juan Nicolás de la Higuera and an Apache woman.
