The Trail Where They Cried

This is the first of a new series of exhibits relating to the forced removal of the Cherokee from their homelands. It provides context to the experience of removal in 1838 - 1839. Future exhibits will relate to specific camps in Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina.

Cedar Town Camp

Cedar Town Camp was a removal camp in Cedartown, Georgia. The northwest corner of the state included a web of camps in 1838. This exhibit focuses on the story of Cherokee removal in that area. Click here for more information about the unveiling events at Cedartown. NPS - April 2011
