New York, NY – Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is hosting Theodore Roosevelt’s 166th birthday party on Friday, October 25th from 10 AM to 1 PM. Attendance is free of charge, and no reservation is required. Please note that becuase the upstairs historic rooms will be available to tour "open house" style, the 11:00 and 12:00 tours will not be running during this event. 

A professional Theodore Roosevelt reenactor, Joe Weigand, will be available to meet and greet during the event. Visitors can also make a TR-themed craft, design a button, or check out the historic period rooms “open house” style- no tour required! All activities, including the meet and greet, are free of charge.

The event will be held on-site at 28 East 20th Street, New York, NY 10003. For general information such as directions, tour times, or accessibility, please visit the Birthplace’s official website at nps.gov/thrb.

About Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site
Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, lived at this site from his birth on October 27, 1858 until he was 14 years old. The reconstructed house contains five period rooms, two museum galleries and a bookstore. Roosevelt's original birthplace was demolished in 1916. After Roosevelt's death in 1919, the site was purchased by the Women's Roosevelt Memorial Association, rebuilt and decorated with many of its original furnishings by Roosevelt's sisters and wife.

How to Get There: Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is located at 28 East 20th Street, between Park Avenue South and Broadway. The Lexington Avenue #6 subway train stops at the East 23rd Street station on Park Avenue South. Express #4 and #5 subways stop at 14th St./Union Square. N and R subway trains stop at the East 23rd Street station on Broadway.Frequent bus service is provided by routes M-6 and M-7 on Broadway, by route M-1 on Park Avenue South and by route M-23 operating cross town on 23rd Street.  NPS
