Spring Creek Ski Trail

The Spring Creek Ski Trail is an 8 mile (12.9 km) one-way, skier-tracked, most difficult ski that requires excellent speed control and turning skills. Snowcoach drop at Divide Trailhead. The trail starts with a short uphill climb. At the junction, turn right and go down a steep narrow trail through dense forest. Excellent speed control and turning skills are required. Snowcoach drop at the Spring Creek Picnic Area. The trail traverses rolling hills, level terrain, forests, canyons, and many small bridges over Spring Creek. There are additional areas where you may need to sidestep up and also sidestep down a steep hill. Please do not take your skis off as it creates a hazard for other skiers. The trail ends at the Lone Star Geyser Trail. Turn right to return to Old Faithful via the snow vehicle road or Kepler Cascades Trail. Turn left to reach Lone Star Geyser. The Howard Eaton Trail starts immediately beyond Lone Star Geyser.

Notes: CAUTION: recommended for advanced skiers only due to steep terrain. Bison and elk frequent this trail. Federal regulations require you to stay at least 100 yards (91 m) away from bears and wolves, and at least 25 yards (23 m) away from bison and all other wild animals. Stay on boardwalks and designated ski trails. The ground is unstable in hydrothermal areas.
