Gneiss Creek Ski Trail

The Gneiss Creek Ski Trail is a 14-mile (23-km) one-way lightly-used ski trail that takes skiers across rolling meadows and open forests. The trailhead is 9.5 miles (15.2 km) north of West Yellowstone along US Highway-191. Trail crosses several creeks – use caution. Return the same way or ski back along the snow road from Seven Mile Bridge to West Yellowstone (7 miles /11.3 km). Be sure to arrange for a shuttle back to your car.

Notes: CAUTION: Trail crosses several creeks - use caution. Bison and elk frequent this trail. Federal regulations require you to stay at least 100 yards (91 m) away from bears and wolves, and at least 25 yards (23 m) away from bison and all other wild animals.
