Thing to Do
Leash your pet. Pets must be kept on a six-foot leash and under physical control at all times while visiting any area of the park. Leashed pets are welcome, but are not allowed inside the Visitor Center (except for service animals).
There are NO FEES at Monocacy National Battlefield.

From the North (U.S. 15), or West (Hagerstown):
Using I-70 eastbound, take Exit 54 (MD Rt. 85/East Street). Bear right on Rt. 85 toward Buckeystown, then turn left (south) at the second traffic light onto Rt. 355 (Urbana Pike). The Monocacy National Battlefield Visitor Center is located approximately 1.5 miles on the left, 5201 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD 21704.
From the East (Baltimore):
Using I-70 westbound, take Exit 54 (MD Rt. 85/East Street). Bear left (south) on Rt. 85 toward Buckeystown, then turn left (south) at the second traffic light onto Rt. 355 (Urbana Pike). From the South (Washington):

Museum and Visitor Center
Mobility Impairments: The Visitor Center and museum is fully accessible.
Hearing Impairments: A variety of written information is available in the Visitor Center. The fiber optic battle map is captioned. Visitors may check out a hand held device for assistive listening of the museum exhibits at the information desk.
Sight Impairments: A system of audio description of museum exhibits is available. Visitors may check out a hand held device at the information desk.
Self-Guided Auto Tour
Mobility Impairments: Touring is done in your own vehicle. Wayside exhibit plaques and exhibits along the tour route are designed to be mobility friendly and accessible.
Hearing Impairments: A free park map and guide is available at the Visitor Center. Wayside exhibits with text and visual illustrations are also located throughout the park.
Sight Impairments: Explore the history of the Battle of Monocacy by downloading our audio tour, which follows the auto tour route. These MP3-formatted audio files can be downloaded to your favorite MP3 player or computer; listen online or bring it with you to the park.
Walking Trails
Mobility Impairments: A portion of the half-mile Gambrill Mill Trail (Auto Tour Stop 5) is wheelchair accessible. The trail provides scenic views of the Monocacy River and has several interpretive waysides.
