Thing to Do
Become a Craters Junior Ranger
Want to become a Junior Ranger at Craters of the Moon? Our Junior Ranger Guidebook is fun for all ages.
Pick up a book at the visitor center. To earn the badge, complete as many activities as you can, then circle which animal level you reached in the beginning of the book:
Butterfly Level: Three activities
Clark's Nutcracker Level: Six activities
Pronghorn Level: All activities
Craters of the Moon also offers the Little Lunar Ranger book for those who may have trouble completing the activities in the Junior Ranger Guidebook.
Return your completed book to the ranger at the visitor center and take the pledge to earn your badge. If you're not quite finished with your book, don't worry! You can also mail the book to the visitor center and a ranger will look it over and send it back to you with a badge. Please note the park is unable to send mail internationally.
Want to work on the book at home? Download a PDF of the Junior Ranger book online or contact the park to have a book mailed to you.
