Become a Junior Ranger at Reconstruction Era National Historical Park

NPS/Sam Mischke
Are you a Reconstruction Era National Historical Park Junior Ranger yet? Our Junior Ranger program is available at all three sites of our park: Downtown Beaufort, Darrah Hall, and Pinckney-Porter’s Chapel. While it isn’t necessary to go to each site to earn your Junior Ranger badge, you should visit all three sites to learn about the full legacy of the Reconstruction era.
The Reconstruction Era National Historical Park Junior Ranger book is nine pages long and is recommended for those 7 and up. For children under 7 the book can be adapted so they too can earn a badge. There is no age limit on our Junior Ranger program.
If you can’t make it to the park but would like to complete the Junior Ranger program, we can mail you a book. Just email us with your name and address.
The Junior Ranger booklet is a 9-page book recommended for 7 and up. If you are not able to pick up the book in person, we can mail a booklet to you. If you were not able to finish the book while at the park you can mail it to us, and we will send you a badge.
