Let’s turn #BlackFriday green! We're using #GreenFriday—and the general green theme—to issue an invitation for getting outside the day after Thanksgiving.

Here are some ideas to get your creativity going...

  • For many people, green reminds us of balance, nature, spring, and rebirth. It’s the symbol of prosperity, freshness, and progress.

  • We know that being outdoors is good for our wellbeing and has a calming effect. Use #GreenFriday as an alternative to the stress of Black Friday.

  • “Green” is also often used to describe practices that are ecologically conscious. Highlight projects and programs that focus on conservation and sustainability.

  • Offer ten ideas or insider tips for visiting parks and public lands in your area on #GreenFriday.

  • How can visitors “go green” in your park?

  • Highlight park elements with "green" in their name! This could be parks themselves, the features, places, resources within parks, historical figures, and other concepts that have the word or name “Green”. Below are a few examples, but you can expand this list to apply to your park.

  • I spy something green in my park...flora, objects, ideas, changes...what else can you imagine?
