Texas Cultural Landscape Symposium

February 23-26, 2020, Waco Texas

This 3-day symposium brought together an interdisciplinary field of professionals from Texas and surrounding states to share their insights, experience, and enthusiasm for cultural landscape preservation. Hosted by Preservation in partnership with NCPTT and the National Parks Conservation Association, the symposium addressed the vast expanse of cultural landscapes from the smallest rural settlements to the densest urban environments.

Below are presentations made at the symposium on these topics: urban cultural landscapes, archeology and cultural landscapes, rural cultural landscapes, environmental change in cultural landscapes, interpreting cultural landscapes, NPS perspective on cultural landscapes, cultural landscapes and the National Historic Preservation Act (1996-2020), the National Register of Historic Places and cultural landscapes, African-American cultural landscapes, managing cultural landscapes data, and case studies in cultural landscapes.
