Preservation Matters translates technical information into easily digestible best practices, technical overviews, and practical tips on a wide variety of preservation topics. Intended for site managers, preservation staff, contractors, and homeowners, Preservation Matters briefs provide short, illustrated overviews of topics, organized into subcategories like landscape maintenance, cemetery conservation, remote sensing, and disaster response. They are designed to be used online, downloaded to a mobile device, or printed out for use as job aids in the field.
Titles of the inaugural briefs are listed below, and many more are in the works. NCPTT invites its partners in other agencies, nonprofits, and the public sector to suggest future topics, or to volunteer to write a brief. All briefs undergo a rigorous peer review process and will be maintained in the public domain on NCPTT and other NPS websites.
