Become a site steward or volunteer, join a field school, pursue avocational certification, or do an internship. If you're a veteran looking for a new service opportunity, archeology can help.All these ways to get involved in archeology are also great steps towards a career.

If you're a private landowner or community member, you play a special role in preserving and protecting archeological sites. Archeological projects may qualify for grants, or you can nominate properties to national registers.
