The Teacher Ranger Teacher Program (TRT) is an extended professional development program opportunity for K-12 Educators. This program focuses on giving educators an opportunity to learn about the National Park Service educational resources, while allowing them to expand their own learn and earn continuing education graduate credits though a partnership with the University of Colorado Denver.

Over the course of several weeks, though an immersive program, TRT’s will work with park staff to develop National Park education materials or program and complete three graduate credit hours of coursework in Experiential Learning (online). Through this program educators are given an opportunity to expand and enhance their teaching skills, in a content area of their choice, while working with primary and secondary sources at Springfield Armory National Historic Site.

Springfield Armory NHS has hosted TRT’s in the past to great success and we are looking forward to working with our next TRT to develop lessons/programs to share with the community.
