All sites at Big Meadows Campground are by reservation only. Learn more about this and other changes on our campground reservations page. Group camping is available at Loft and Big Meadows. There is NO group camping at Dundo.

Nothing compares to sleeping under the stars, and with five unique campgrounds, there's no better place to do it than Shenandoah National Park! All of our campgrounds are open seasonally, from early spring until late fall. Reservations are highly recommended on weekends and holidays. Many sites can be reserved 6 months ahead of time; see more information below for each campground. Please make sure to know the rules and regulations before your stay.

Wondering whether there's first-come, first-served site availability? You can opt in to our alert system to find out. Simply text SHENCAMP to 888777. On weekends you will receive twice daily updates on campsite availability. You can opt out at any time.

Mathews Arm and Loft Mountain Campgrounds have with a mixture of reservable and first-come, first-served sites. Lewis Mountain Campground offers first-come, first-served sites only. Sites at Big Meadows Campground are by reservation only. Make your reservation at Recreation.gov.
