Planning for Accessibility Improvements

At Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, we're developing a plan to guide our efforts to improve access to park features, facilities, and services. Our new Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan (SETP) details the results of our recent self-evaluation process, and will serve as a tool for addressing overall needs associated with making key park experiences more accessible.
In the coming months, we'll be seeking your feedback on our draft SETP plan.

How to View the Plan

The SETP draft is available for download on the NPS Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) website. To view the plan, visit the project webpage on PEPC, click on Document List, click on SEKI Draft Accessibility Self Evaluation and Transition Plan, and select the PDF and Excel files to download and review.

The Accessibility SETP contains a narrative document and task list in an Excel workbook. The combined documents include findings from a self-evaluation process and specific actions to be taken to improve accessibility parkwide. The first spreadsheet in the workbook is an Implementation Strategy Table that outlines improvements for services, activities, and programs by park area. The second spreadsheet is a table containing actions for park policies, practices, communication, and training (PPCT).

How to Comment

Comments will be accepted on the PEPC website project page for a 30-day period, July 19 to August 20, 2021. To submit a comment, visit the project web page (link coming soon). Click on Open For Comment. Click the Comment Now button to access the comment form. Required fields include City, State, Postal Code, and Comments.
