Field Trips

Self-Guided Field Trips

The parks are available for you and your students to enjoy! You do not need a ranger guided tour to bring your students to the parks. Use your own curriculum for a field trip and let us know if you have questions while planning.

Due to staffing levels and logistics, we are not offering ranger-led field trips to sequoia groves during the 2024-2025 season. To take your students to these areas, they will need to be self-guided trips.

Before visiting, please fill out an academic fee waiver to let us know you are coming.

Ranger-Led Field Trips

Bring your class to the parks to explore history and geology in the foothills at Hospital Rock. This curriculum-based program involves hands-on investigation and is taught collaboratively by rangers and classroom teachers.

Ranger-Led Field Trips are offered November through April.

Field Trip Program: Layers in Time
Introduces students to the Native American tribes who once lived in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Students participate in a mock–archeological dig and examine Native American artifacts. Ideally, this field trip is combined with a classroom program before the park visit.
