Businesses in these parks provide vital services for our visitors and offer economic opportunities for people in nearby communities. Federal regulations prohibit engaging in or soliciting any business in park areas, except in accordance with the provisions of a permit, contract, or other written agreement with the United States. Authorized commercial services within Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks fall under two categories, concession contracts and Commercial Use Authorizations. ConcessionersConcessions contractors provide certain visitor services, including overnight accommodations, food and beverage services, retail sales, recreational winter equipment rental and horseback riding and pack stock services. Commercial Use Authorizations (CUAs)Commercial Use Authorizations (CUAs) are issued for all appropriate commercial services conducted by a private person, corporation, or other private entity.
