Visitor Center

This is the park's central Visitor Center, located in the northwest corner of Saratoga Battlefield. It offers restrooms, a 20-minute visitor orientation film, 15-minute fiber-optic battlefield map, exhibits, the park's Eastern National museum store, and park maps and brochures.

Directions

The Visitor Center is located at the northwest corner of Saratoga Battlefield, which itself is located between U.S. Route 4 and N.Y. Route 32, about 4 miles north of the Village of Stillwater. Several roads and turns are required to get here; for detailed information, please check our website.

The Visitor Center is a great place to start your visit to Saratoga National Historical Park. Grab a map, speak to a ranger, explore exhibits, or watch the 20-minute park film to learn about the historical impact of the Battles of Saratoga that took place here.

Other Park Sites

Battlefield Tour Road

Closed to Vehicle Traffic (Will open for the new season on April 1, 2025, weather permitting)
Open for Pedestrians and cyclists or winter recreation pending conditions, sunrise to sunset

Battlefield Grounds

Open Daily, sunrise to sunset. Hiking trails are for pedestrian use only with no bikes allowed. Saratoga Battlefield has several miles of hiking trails, including its only marked trail, the 4 1/4 mile Wilkinson Trail (a loop trail) - other trails are established, but not marked. Pedestrians may also walk or bike the Driving Tour Road using the marked Multi-Use Lane.

Battlefield Tour Road and Wilkinson Trail are NOT plowed or shoveled during winter months. Snow and ice will likely be present so please use extra caution.
