Ranger Talks

Interpretive ranger talks are offered during regular park hours at 10 am and 2 pm. Talks last approximately 30 - 40 minutes. NOTE: These are stationary talks, not walking tours. For details contact park staff at (719) 438-5916.

At the Site:
  • Learn about the massacre from an interpretive ranger.
  • Honor the deceased by paying respect at the Repatriation Area.
  • Rest among the trees in the Visitor Use Area.
  • Walk to the top of Monument Hill.
  • Look for rare birds, insects, and flora.
  • Admire the High Plains landscape as you continue along the Bluff Trail.
 

Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site is open Thursday through Monday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and and closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. For additional information, please call the park at 719-538-5916 (9:00 am to 4:00 pm)
