Santa Monica Mountains Anthony C. Beilenson Interagency Visitor Center

The Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center is located in what once was the ranch stables, which was part of King C. Gillette Ranch. The stables were refurbished to make it a visitor center. In alignment with the Department of the Interior sustainability goals, the building is the first “net zero” visitor center in the National Park Service and worked with the U.S. Green Building Council to qualify the building as a LEED certified facility.

The Santa Monica Mountains Anthony C. Beilenson Visitor Center at King Gillette Ranch is operated by four partner agencies:

Ventura Freeway (U.S. 101) to Las Virgenes Road (Co. Hwy N1) exit. Go 3 miles south on Las Virgenes Road to Mulholland Highway intersection (traffic light). Turn left on Mulholland Highway. Park entrance is 0.1 mile on right.

Parking: Short-term parking will be available adjacent to the visitor center. Additional paid parking is also located nearby.

Good to Know

Parking	Yes	There is a 2 ­hour free parking limit in the main parking lot. There is a second parking lot where a small fee is charged for all day use. Street parking might also be available, depending on the time of day/year.
Restrooms	Yes	There is a men’s and a women’s restroom with multiple flushable toilets.
Water	Yes	There is a water fountain by the restrooms.
Pets	Yes	Dogs are allowed but must remain on a leash at all times. Please pick­ up after your pet. Dogs are not allowed on the Inspiration Point Hike, nor the MRCA property, which include the surrounding areas of the Gillette mansion.
Accessibility	Yes	Parking lot is paved.
Cell Service	Yes	Cell service may be unreliable in the areas.

This building was once a stable, which was built back in 1928.
