THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.— On Wednesday morning, 50 immigrants became United States citizens during a ceremony at King Gillette Ranch hosted by Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA), a unit of the National Park Service, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

SAN FRANCISCO – The National Park Service (NPS) has selected Jody Lyle as the new permanent superintendent of Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA) beginning July 28, 2024.

WASHINGTON – David Szymanski, a 25-year National Park Service (NPS) veteran, has been selected to serve as the regional director for the Pacific West Region, which includes all parks in California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, parts of Arizona and Montana, and the territories of Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands. He begins his new role after the holidays.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – A popular trailhead in Cheeseboro Canyon has reopened to the public after a series of improvements were made over the last 10 months.
