Requests are accepted on an ongoing basis for Peter Strauss Ranch. The attached request form can be submitted via email, fax or mail to the office of Special Park Uses at Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Are. Please provide as much detail as possible about your event and an alternate date if possible.

Non Peak Full Day

$2,000 Full Day Use (8:00am to 10:00pm) (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays)

Peak Full Day

$4,000 Full Day Use (8:00am to 10:00pm) (Saturday, Sunday & holidays)

Non Peak Half Day

$1,000 Half Day Use (8:00am to 3:00pm OR 3:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays)

Peak Half Day

$2,000 Half Day Use (8:00am to 3:00pm OR 3:00pm to 10:00pm, Saturday, Sunday & holidays)

Time and Manner of Payment

50% of the total rental fee is due at the time of LESSEE’s signature.

The remaining 50% of the rental fee is due upon the park Superintendent’s signature of this Agreement.

Payments must be made online in the form of debit or credit card. Checks or money orders are not accepted.

A thirty (30) day cancellation policy applies. LESSEE must provide notice of cancellation in WRITING in accordance with the NOTICE provision in Section 16 of Exhibit A of this Agreement. Notice of cancellation shall be deemed to have been given as set forth in Section 16 of Exhibit A of signed lease.
Refund Policy for Cancellations of 30 Days or More: Cancellations made at least thirty (30) days in advance of the date of the event qualify for a full refund of actual fees paid.
No Refund Policy for Cancellations of Less Than 30 Days: Cancellations made less than thirty (30) days in advance of the date of the event do not qualify for a refund of any fees paid, and the LESSEE will be deemed to have rented the Premises for the actual time paid. However, if and only if Lessor is able to relet the Premises, LESSEE will be entitled to a refund of actual fees paid, provided further that LESSOR is under no obligation to seek to relet the Premises.
LESSOR shall not be liable for any costs, expenses, damages, claims or the like caused by or arising out of a cancellation.

Additional Rent

Unanticipated costs incurred by the LESSOR as a result of the use and occupancy of the Premises shall be due and owing immediately upon conclusion of the event. Such costs are considered additional rent and may include, but are not limited to, emergency services, security, clean up, trash removal, and the costs necessary to remedy damage to park resources.

Once this office receives an application and confirms the availability of the site, a permit will be issued to you to pay a 50% deposit. This will hold the date on our calendar. A site visit will be scheduled and an invoice will be issued with the final permit after all details are finalized.

We do not manage business opportunities for California State Parks, Mountains Restoration Conservation Authority (MRCA), local parks or other lands not administered by the National Park Service, within the Recreation Area. For all other areas, you must contact the appropriate land managers.
