San Juan National Historic Site Proposes Fee ChangeBeginning in August 2014, National Park units were directed to conduct public outreach through civic engagement to gauge support of changes to fees to align with the new rate schedule established for the National Park Service system and supported by the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA) of 2004. This nationwide system is to be in place by 2017.As part of this civic engagement process, San Juan National Historic Site communicated directly with our Congressional delegations, local and state governmental and non-governmental officials, stakeholders and the public through a number of public meetings, news releases and other social media to solicit comments to this proposal. The proposed fee in order to be in compliance with the National Park Service rate schedule is $7.00. This would replace the current $5.00 fee. Designated National Historic Sites within the National Park Service system were slated to have an entrance fee of 7.00 by 2017, when service wide entrance fees for all National Park Service sites in the system will be consistent with their designations. Public meetings were held October 4 & 5, 2016 where comments from the public were received. Thank you for your comments & feedback. Please see the documents below for additional information.
