Tourist in My Own Town

Duration:
4 minutes, 25 seconds

Join Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductee Mark Cutler on a journey through Rhode Island's National Parks.

Mark gets out a map and explores his own home state. On his journey, he discovers Old Slater Mill National Historic Landmark, the Blackstone River, Ashton Mill, Roger Williams National Memorial, and more!

And the best part is that the lyrics to this song were written by our visitors! In the summer of 2020, while most of us were unable to interact in person, Roger Williams National Memorial shifted its Healing Arts in The Parks project, funded by the NPS Washington Office, to a virtual setting.

The inspiration for the song came from the opportunity these virtual visitors saw to explore our own home towns rather than travel to places far and wide. We are grateful to these folks, who helped contribute to this amazing song.
