A wood sign indicates the path to the site; the path may be marked by red arrowheads on trees. Camp safely away from standing dead trees, as near as is safely possible to the silver metal arrowhead. Number of Sites: 6 Elevation: 10,120 feet Distance: 1.2 miles from Longs Peak TH Approximate Travel Time: 1 hour Elevation Change: 720 feet gain Privy: NO---Use pack in and pack out human waste bags. Water Source: Water is available from Alpine Brook. Boil or adequately treat all water. To Reach the Trailhead (TH): Longs Peak TH: From Beaver Meadows Visitor Center follow Hwy 36 approximately 1 mile east then turn right onto Mary’s Lake Road and follow approximately 2.4 miles to Hwy 7. Turn right and follow Hwy 7 approximately 5.6 miles to Longs Peak Road. Turn right onto Longs Peak Road. The TH and Longs Peak Ranger Station are at the end of this road (approximately 1 mile). The TH is beside the Ranger Station. |
