Size: 37-46” Description: Dark brown overall with a bronze-green iridescence, white barring on the wings, and white to rusty-tipped rump and tail feathers. The head and neck are bare and are red to blue to gray in color. Migratory Status: Year-round residents of Rocky Mountain National Park. Habitat: Live in ponderosa pine and other coniferous forests with a shrubby understory to 8,000 feet. Diet: Forage on the ground and eat mostly plant matter, nuts and seeds.
