Experience Autumn in Rocky Mountain National Park

Summer is slowly winding down and fall is in the air. Aspen leaves are still green but will soon be changing at higher elevations and an occasional elk bugle has been heard in Rocky Mountain National Park. Autumn is a magical time, a season of color and sound. A variety of ranger-led programs are available during the fall. Every night in the east side of the park through October 8, naturalist rangers present a program called Elk Echoes. Participants learn about elk adaptations, migration and mating behavior. Why do bulls act the way they do? Programs are held at 6:00 p.m. in two locations; at Moraine Park Museum amphitheater and the Sheep Lakes parking lot.

Every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. through September 29, in the west side of the park, join rangers for A Glimpse of Paradise. Participants take an easy 3 mile hike which passes Adam Falls and leads to spectacular views of mountains and meadows. Experience the sights, smells and sounds of fall.
