Become a Junior Ranger!

Junior Rangers at Rocky Mountain National Park have fun exploring while learning about why it's important to protect this special place.

You can become a Junior Ranger too!

Stop by one of the park's visitor centers and pick up your free Junior Ranger activity booklet, get sworn in as a Junior Ranger, then get to work exploring and learning about your national park! Activity booklets are available at any visitor contact station in English and in Spanish. There are 3 different activity books to choose from: Ages 5 and under, Ages 6-8, and Ages 9 and up.

Visit Junior Ranger Headquarters or the Moraine Park Discovery Center

Open during the summer season daily from late May through August 15, discover a variety of fun activities for Junior Rangers of all ages at both Junior Ranger Headquarters at Hidden Valley and at the Moraine Park Discovery Center.

What Activities are Available at Junior Ranger Headquarters?

Junior Rangers of all ages and their families are invited to go explore at Junior Ranger Headquarters. From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Explorer Activity Bags are available to be checked out. Inside, Junior Rangers will find tools to help them learn and explore. Pick up Junior Ranger books and earn a Junior Ranger badge.

Located on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park, Junior Ranger Headquarters is based at Hidden Valley. To get to Hidden Valley, drive on Trail Ridge Road approximately 7 miles from the Beaver Meadows or Fall River Entrances to the park.

What Activities are Available at the Moraine Park Discovery Center?

Open daily through August 15, Junior Rangers and their families are invited to learn more about the plants and wildlife that call Rocky home. Fun Discovery Activities are available between the hours of 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Located 2 miles down Bear Lake Road from the intersection with Trail Ridge Road/U.S. Hwy 36, Moraine Park Discovery Center is on the left side of the road and across from Moraine Park. Enjoy views of Longs Peak and Moraine Park.
