Important Facts About Visiting this Park Site
The Port Chicago Naval Magazine National Memorial is a unique site and often a powerful, educational and emotional experience for visitors. Due to it's unique nature, here are some important details to know before you go to our reservations page:
The Memorial is on an Active Military Base

Reservations are required and have to be two-weeks in advance of an available date.

The Base has blackout dates and we do not always know when they will occur. We occasionally have to cancel tours and reschedule due to Base operations. Please note that not all dates may be available for booking.

Reservations do require specific identification documents, U.S. citizenship and a background check performed by the base.
General Days and Times
- When reserving a tour, public access to the Memorial is available through a two-week advance reservation for tours on Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays. Tours begin at 12:30 PM and last 1.5 hours.
- No access available on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, or during Military Ocean Terminal Concord (MOTCO) operations.
- Not All Dates Are Available: Please be advised that if MOTCO has active operations, there is no public access and no tours of the Memorial.
