Wayne's Woods Picnic Area is located along the one-way section of South Outer Line Drive past the National Memorial Arch. The area is a grassy lawn with wooden picnic tables set underneath the canopies of tall trees. Wayne's Woods Picnic Area provides shade, picnic tables, trash receptacles, a bike rack, and seasonally-available potable water and restrooms with flush toilets. (Water and restrooms are closed during winter months).
Wayne's Woods Picnic Area is one of three designated picnic areas at Valley Forge National Historical Park. The other two designated picnic areas are Betzwood Picnic Area and Varnum's Picnic Area.

Trash must be disposed of properly and packed out if no trash receptacles are available.

Picnicking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fires within self-contained grills are permitted in designated picnic areas only. All grill accoutrements and used charcoal must be packed out of the park by the user.

What's Nearby
Wayne's Woods Picnic Area provides excellent views of the National Memorial Arch and the landscape of Valley Forge. Wayne's Woods itself is a sensitive area closed to the public located to the west of the picnic area. A wooden split-rail fence marks the closure area.
The Pennsylvania Columns monument and the Anthony Wayne statue are nearby along South Outer Line Drive. The paved 5-mile loop of the Joseph Plumb Martin trail passes through the picnic area. Artillery Park is across the field to the north.
