Parking - Auto, Trailhead

The Bull Point Trailhead is located on the left side of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard as you drive towards North Beach. This trailhead offers access to a flat and easy 1.8-mile-long (2.9-km-long) trail that leads towards the picturesque edge of Drakes Estero, where many water birds can be seen. This is also a popular trail for those looking for uncommon native plants.

Hike to Bull Point: 3.6 miles (5.8 km) roundtrip, easy – bikes permitted

Park Regulations

  • Take only pictures; leave only footprints: Almost everything one finds at Point Reyes is protected by law, including shells, rocks, fossils, flowers, and artifacts.
  • Please only travel on authorized trails, respect posted signs, and practice Leave No Trace principles when recreating in the park.
  • Check current conditions and trail advisories and closures before your visit.
  • Bicycles are permitted on the Bull Point Trail.

Parking

The Bull Point Trailhead parking lot is approximately 25 minutes by car from the Bear Valley Visitor Center. There is a small dirt parking lot with space for 10 vehicles on the east side (the left side if you are driving toward the lighthouse) of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

Additional Information

Hikers on this trail may encounter cattle. This trail may also be muddy and mucky, especially as you approach the edge of Drakes Estero.
