While Visiting the ParkVisitor CenterThe visitor center has an accessible front entrance from the driveway to the door and into the building. The second and third entrances which are most often used to exit the visitor center lead visitors toward the Memorial. These doors are at opposing sides of a two-story window. The doors have automatic openers and swing open onto wide porches. There are two benches on each porch. Between the porch and the sidewalk are three steps without railings and no accessible ramp. ExhibitsThe visitor center is an open space with a vaiety of exhibits from murals to maps, and an encased diorama of the Battle of Lake Erie. Most exhibits are physically accessible but have other accessible limitations such as a lack of audio descriptions or tactile opportunities. A 2-story window has a view of the Memorial and grounds. At the window is an accessible horizontal exhibit panel with interactive elements that recalls the steps of building of the memorial. Park Store and RestroomsInside the visitor center is the park store. The space may be restricted by a merchandise rack but in general is accessible. Rangers are available to assist.
