A Convergence of Culture
Pecos is a natural and cultural crossroads through which hunters, gatherers, traders, missionaries, immigrants, soldiers, ranchers, and other travelers passed and lived. Follow in their footsteps and imagine Pecos through the centuries. Visit sites where cultural demonstrations and traditional practices continue today - a living legacy of the people who passed this way. At Pecos, past is present.
The park is open year-round, generally 8 am to 4:30 pm. The visitor center is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Reservations are not required.
What is there to do at Pecos? Visit the museum, go for a hike, join a ranger program, find artistic inspiration and more!
Glorieta Pass (center) has offered safe passage through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains for thousands of years. Discover some of the stories.
Hike battlefields, ranches, or pueblos.
