Obed Wild and Scenic River to Offer 2023 “Lunch and Learn” Program Summer Series

Obed Wild and Scenic River will be partnering with the Morgan County School Food Services to offer a “Lunch and Learn” program series that will take place on Fridays starting June 30, through July 28, 2023.

Lunches provided are through the Summer Feeding Program that is sponsored by Morgan County School Food Services and the Morgan County Healthier Tennessee Community.

This program is available to all participants, regardless of what county they reside. Morgan County is one of the Tennessee counties that is designated a Healthier Tennessee county that is striving to encourage healthy lifestyles.

This year’s programs will include in-person, ranger-led programs at Obed Wild and Scenic River and are free of charge.

Friday, July 21	11:00 AM	Obed Wild and Scenic River- meet at Nemo Picnic Area	Let’s go Kayaking! Bring your bathing suits and towels. We will provide the kayaks, helmets, and life jackets. Together we will learn the basics of kayaking and explore the calm waters of the Nemo area.
Friday, July 28	11:00 AM	Obed Wild & Scenic River Meet at visitor center parking lot 208 N. Maiden Street Wartburg, TN 37887	The Life of a Long Hunter Find out what it was like to be a long hunter in the early days of Tennessee. Ranger Jordan will be dressed in authentic long hunter clothing for you to see firsthand.
