Niobrara National Scenic River Celebrates 30 Years!
Challenge yourself to explore the Niobrara River Valley to commemorate of the 30th anniversary of the Niobrara National Scenic River. Join the Niobrara River Challenge, by hiking, floating and seeing the film in the Visitor Center and earn a limited edition bandana courtesy of Cherry County Tourism. The challenge can be done in any particular order. The challenge can be done at any time and we encourage participants to not try to complete the challenge all in one outing.
Hike Fort Falls Trail The trail at Fort Falls is an arduous 0.9 mile loop that showcases the geology of the Niobrara River Valley. For the Niobrara River Challenge a selfie must be taken at this rock outcropping with hiking sign visible! The coordinates are 42°54’7” N 100°28’13” W Ft. Falls Trail
