Notice to the Public of a Temporary Closure of Fort Foote

September 3: Fort Foote Park will be closed to all visitors from 12:00 am on September 3, 2026 until 11:59 pm on January 31, 2026.

Violation is prohibited. A map illustrating the closed park areas is attached.

This temporary closure is necessary to provide for visitor safety during a comprehensive rehabilitation project to restore park resources and improve the visitor experience. Work will include resurfacing the parking lot and gravel roadway, replacing parking barriers, removing the abandoned restroom facility and reseeding the area, and replacing trash cans with new wildlife proof trash cans.

Persons using these park areas should remove themselves and any property from the closed area.

The National Park Service appreciates the public’s cooperation in this matter.
