Overview

This exhibit celebrates the establishment of Everglades National Park through a series of handsomely illustrated first day covers for the Everglades National Park three cent stamp. 

The stamp was issued on December 5, 1947 in Florida City, Florida, a day before President Harry S Truman dedicated Everglades National Park.  The artwork on the covers features the flora, fauna, and people of this region.
